The current Black Lives Matter protests are being covered globally. We all know the matter regarding the unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others. I’m not good at putting things into words, so I apologize. This is a difficult, but necessary matter to address. There are also aftereffects for those who are able to get through COVID-19. It’s not just about the death of if you or someone you know gets it, but it also heavily affects those left behind. It’s something that needs to be taken seriously. All jokes and fun aside… please, please, please, pleaaaase always wash your hands, practice social distancing, and wear a mask! I’m serious. Please stay safe and take care of yourself. Let’s talk memes, music, dramas, movies, or fan spazz!~ It’s nice to meet all of you lovely people from around the world! Thanks for stopping by our blog!~ I’ve been a part of the BAYOG Crew since 2017~ I fangirl and mostly blog about music, live action movies/dramas, and manga/webtoons~ When I’m not blogging, I’m usually writing/singing Thai-English covers~ I’m BAYOG’s hella basic Asian chick, Real People Stuffs expert, and boba addict. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for Sapphire… Though artists haven’t sung my versions, I am glad that and for my work. So I think it’s only right that there’s some credit or at least a mention of it. However, it does take time and effort to write lyrics. It’d be a dream come true if an artist I respected decided to sing my lyrics. I’d also be ecstatic if they ever want to use my lyrics. I’m happy when the original artist or want to share it. I myself, and sometimes (, Mandarin Chinese, or Japanese). Especially because the lyrics were Sapphire’s original lyrics that had been inspired by the original, and not a translation. Which is really awkward and not really nice.

Note that for this blog tour I will mostly be referring to research that I had previously done on Watanabe as part of my written thesis last year.At first, I was like “Wow! That’s really cool! It’s awesome that an artist she liked had liked and used her lyrics!” That is until I realized, “Wait…there’s like no credit or any mention of Sapphire for the English lyrics…” That’s when I realized and found out that they apparently never communicated to Sapphire about it. Joseph Campbell’s notion of “the hero’s journey”), Shinichiro Watanabe, best known for works such as Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, applies a different approach to the theme of the journey which is present in almost all of his anime. While the theme of the journey is a common trope mostly used in Shounen anime (i.e. Whatever your definition of “journey” is, they all have one defining constant: every journey that begins eventually comes to an end. It can refer to a physical journey to a new and exciting place, an internal journey of overcoming adversity in order to better oneself, or (my favourite one) it can refer to the name of the band that sang one of the most iconic rock anthems ever, Don’t Stop Believin’ (“Hold on to the feeling…”).

The word “journey” has many meanings for different people. We will explore the journeys that these characters went through, discuss the process and experiences they had on their journeys, what they discover about themselves, or share our own personal journeys. In this month’s OWLS post, we will be discussing the personal journeys of pop culture creators, icons, and characters. It is in those moments where we must overcome an adversity to complete our journey or take a different route or path instead. Along the way, we encounter some personal struggles. We have all heard this saying in some shape or form: “Life is a journey.” We travel down a path in hope that we reach a goal or destination, but the travel in getting there isn’t always easy.
